The Wolverines (7-1 overall, 5-0 Region 6-6A) showcased their resilience, overcoming a 17-0 deficit in the second quarter and holding off the Raiders’ late game surge. Despite North Forsyth’s strong offensive performance, West Forsyth’s balanced attack and timely plays proved to be the difference in this rivalry game.
The Raiders (4-4, 2-3 Region 6-6A) mounted a remarkable comeback, taking a 21-20 lead with just over four minutes remaining in the game. However, West Forsyth quickly responded with a long rushing touchdown by Andrew Davis and a successful two point conversion, regaining the lead 28-21. North Forsyth tied the game once again with a touchdown pass. Ultimately, the Wolverines clinched the victory with a 2-yard touchdown run by Andrew Davis with 42 seconds left, securing the 35-28 win.
West Forsyth was led by Andrew Davis’ impressive rushing performance, as he gained 185 yards on 19 carries and scored 2 touchdowns. The Wolverines will look to continue their winning ways as they host North Atlanta next Friday. A win Friday will lock up the 1st seed and a region title.
